Bob Nappe

I was raised in a strict household with parents that taught me, manors, respect, discipline, and the importance of education. Went to college and received a Bachelors in Education which would prove to be useful throughout my careers.  I became an EMT in 1978, and graduated Paramedic school in 1981. I have stayed in EMS till present day.  I was a Police officer for 30 years, during which I was on the SWAT team, I created and ran a Dive rescue team, and was sent to FLETC(Federal Law Enforcement Training Center) were I was trained as a support medic for counter terrorist response teams. I went to Iraq for a year to train the Iraq police force, and spent some time as a medic while in country.  At present I work for Yale New Haven Hospital Center for EMS, and Nelson Ambulance.

My hobbies are boating,(which I am a Master Captain), Collecting and shooting firearms, SCUBA diving, reading, and traveling. I also love to cook, and eat out. Favorite is Italian, but I try every kind of foods when I travel. There is not much food that I won’t try.

My appearance presents as a tough guy, but as people who know me will attest, I am a loving, caring person with a soft heart and a caring soul.

You know the old saying, it always those who don’t have much that give the most. That’s me.

During my career I not only spent many hours counseling students and fellow workers, but related to my police work, I have counseled many people including youths, families, and many others involved in crisis.

I am currently furthering my education in counseling due to my constant concern for helping others. I wanted to be a member of the peer group because it is a way to continue my counseling within groups that I devoted my live to: Police, Fire, EMS, and Military.
